lonemagpie: like it says (fuck it)
Come on interwebz, somebody must have some idea what the cunting fuck is going on with this (but even my google-fu fails me):

I’m running XP, service pack 3, WMP 11, with all the sharing settings set up right. For several years, I’ve happily plugged one end of an Ethernet cable into the Xbox 360 and the other end into this machine, and played the albums stored in the My Music folder through the 360 and out the TV speakers.

For the past month or so, however – since having to reinstall WMP 11 after a bad update killed it – I do that exact thing, and instead of happily hearing all the album play through the 360 and out the TV speakers, I hear one track, maybe two, then the 360 stops halfway through a (usually the second or third) track, skips the next track or two, and continues randomly in this fashion, playing some tracks and not others. If I try to select the track that stopped or one that was skipped, the 360 claims this track is an unknown file format, but if I start playing the *previous* track, then hit the “next track” arrow, it’ll play it. And then may or may not stop halfway through, pretty much at random.

So, what the fucking hell is causing this? And how the fuck can I get it playing the whole album again?

And, no, it’s not the 360 at fault in and of itself, cos it doesn’t do this with CDs or albums on its hard drive.
lonemagpie: 10Doc whats (wtf)
That's weird- I thought the USB board on my 360 was bust cos it won't play anything from my phone or MP3 player even though it'll charge them... This started round about October 2011 after an update. But I just plugged the new tablet I bought a couple of weeks ago in there, and it plays fine off that! WTF?

And playing through the USB port from the tablet, my Conrad Veidt movies have sound in synch, which wasn't working across the ethernet cable from WMP... So I can watch them on the big telly.

So, I try to stream music from WMP on an XP machine running SP3 to my Xbox 360. Said streamed music stops randomly, and skips over at least the next track every time it does so. What the cunting fuck is going on? And this only started after I got WMP reinstalled this week - it always worked fine before.

Needless to say I'm not getting any actual fucking work done, cos all I'm doing is spending every waking moment failing to get this fucking piece of shit to do what I want it to.

Great, so now my touchpad seems to be permanently jammed on, and I can only boot up in safe mode, cos if I try normally I get a continuous "there's a key stuck" (which there isn't, this time) error beeping. Guess I'll be getting a new machine when I get paid this week. Think I'll get a tablet...

OK, - hitting ctrl-esc during bootup lets me sidestep the suck-touchpad issue and boot normally, which is good. Still think I'll grab a tablet at the weekend.

Any suggestions> I want a decent-sized screen, preferably 10" (and really would prefer a tablet/notebook convertible, but can't afford that), and am thinking of the Lenovo Ideapad...

So, in addition to WMP's sharing ability being shot to fuck, I now apparently have no Like, Follow or Reblog buttons visible on individual tumblr posts, but only in Firefox (they show in IE8, but, you know, it's fucking Microshit) so how the fuck do I get them back?

I sometimes wonder why I even bother with the fucking internet...

so now I can share music to the 360, but it stops halfway through tracks, then skips the next one and tells me it's in an unsupported format even though it played them earlier, and they're fucking WMA files...

What the actual fuck?

Hm so the cause of yesterday's tech problem seems to be something to do with WMP 11- which now locks up the computer when trying to either activate, update, or even install/reinstall it. WTF?

May be offline for a bit: bad XP update followed by failed system restore, followed by ietutil.dll disappearing, and making windows impossible to boot normally.

But as you see I'm finding a workaround. (I've been at this tech stuff since fucking 1985, so...)

ETA - all fixed, no worries.
