More like the first two seasons, plenty of recognisable riffing on stories from the canon, a good villain - though they perhaps overplayed the Bond/Hannibal style references cos he’s played by Mads’s brother - and good laughs.

Didn’t like the cliffhanger, though, which really sparks a “what, *again*?” feeling in me.

Though, that bit with Sherlock's "how I reacted to being asked to be best man" where "I hadn't said any aloud..." That's basically me. Those of you who know me or have met me already know that. So I guess it's a word of warning for those of you who meet me in future - sometimes I come over as unreadable, and I know some people find that uncomfortable. So to those I say, sorry, it just means I can connect to the words. But now you've seen something similar!

What is actually going on with what used to be Sherlock? Two episodes in and basically they seem to have put the cast of Sherlock into some sort of - possibly Richard Curtis - comedy miniseries with no actual... Sherlockness.

Yeah, it's well done and the cast do well, and BC is fabulous- but this isn't the modern Sherlock Holmes that had two series between 2010-2012. It's a great show, but it's a different great show with the same cast...

Hilarious, good character piece, great performances, a little too much meta addressing the fans, and too little plot. That was Sherlock, in a nutshell. (Moffat seems to have taken a holiday from plots in general this festive season.)

Watching Sherlock, and just as well- If only the fucking Sky box had recorded it like I fucking told it so, so I could re-watch later. Fucking piece of shit keeps freezing, failing, locking up, and taking ages to respond to any button from the remote.
