lonemagpie: Vastra and Jenny (vastra)
I keep threatening to make a post about this, and, fuck it, these twats - http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2014/09/07/us-radio-hosts-same-sex-marriage-will-cause-straight-men-to-cheat-on-their-wives-with-gays - are making me do it today.

Yeah, I mean aside from the obvious part that a man cheating on his wife with another guy probably wasn't that straight to begin with. These morons might want to look up "bisexual" (or pan- or poly-sexual) in what passes for a dictionary in their office.

And aside from the fact that if they're so bothered about the "men cheating on their wives" in general part, then the existence of same-sex marriage has little influence when compared to the existence of other (hopefully attractive) people generally.

So, yeah, the thing that gets me about the kind of people who make these statements is that they need to look at how gay rights would be good for *them*.

For example: Are you a red-blooded, all-man, totally straight god-fearing pussy-hound? Yes? You're irresistable to women, right? OK, then ask yourselves this: How many gays are married to women who, because they are married women, aren't available to *you*? Now imagine if those guys could marry each other. For every married gay couple, that's at least two women freed up for you real men, right?

Remember- at base, for straight guys, gays are *not competition*! So why make them competition for your obvious irresistability? Counterproductive, guys.

Obviously the same applies if you're a god-fearing straight woman objecting to lesbians. Speaking of whom, if you're a straight red-blooded guy, you love to dee two women making out. All the Nielsen demographics prove it. So why restrict them to only doing it in on-duty hours? That's just counterproductive, bros!

You're probably the sort of guy also who loves to complain about their in-laws, well, why shouldn't gays get to suffer that too?!

On a sort of related note, there's the issue of gays in the military. It's weird how so many red-blooded real men, and religious types, are all so determined that gays shouldn't serve, but are happy for them to get beaten and murdered. (And you tend to include pretty much every other non cishet male in that too.) But I have to ask, where's the logic in that? Military types are at more risk of getting hurt anbd killed, due to the nature of the profession, right? So doesn't it make more sense to put the people you don't like into that position?

You know what your problem is, dudes, it's that you don't actually think things through enough to be properly effective haters. You should just fucking give it up and stop embarrassing yourselves.
