Weirded out
May. 10th, 2014 03:56 amI feel a little bit weirded out by this week's Da Vinci's Demons. It was definitely their "Brakiri Day Of The Dead" episode, and I know pretty much the headspace that Riario will - or at least ought to, if they handle it properly - be in from here on.
He's going to be driven by guilt (nicely and subtly suggested right off when he says "I killed Zita" even though he didn't really - but knowing is different than feeling) and also...
By the- I don't even know what the word is, but by the ghost of a dead love. (I'm not sure if she's supposed to be the first person he actually loved - we don't know who was in the grave he visited in the penultimate episode of last season - but it certainly came across that way.)
Thankfully at least for me the guilt part and the haunted (psychologically, not like Randall & Hopkirk, I mean) by a dead first love part are different things, related to different people, and it's not the guilt part that I'm feeling tonight.
It makes me think of how much of who I and what I am is influenced by a woman long-dead. Weirded-out, like I say. It being 4AM doesn't help my brain to not be weirded out, either.
