lonemagpieSo, yeah, been watching Allo Allo series 1 on DVD, and I'm actually surprised by how - at this stage in the series, at least - well done Herr Flick and Helga's relationship is done. It's surprisingly progressive for an 80s comedy show- It was Helga's idea (and she takes the lead the whole way) for them to have that BDSM thing going, and it's actually one of the best examples of a BDSM couple I've seen on TV. Which is fucking amazing, when you consider the show it's in, from the era it's from...
(Just note the scene in The Funeral when the Colonel asks her why Herr Flick interrogated her, and she gives this look and says "well, it was raining, so we decided not to go out..." The same episode also ends with a corpsing they kept in!)
And people still think 50 Shades is something...
