(But it will be triggery for some of you, so, like, be aware of that)

What is it with this patriarchal rather than properly fucking isoarchal (yes, I've made that word up, but it works - go look up the Greek) media...?
Because every woman I've ever gone out with has been abused in some way, and I can't be the only guy in the world who never would, and who is so appalled that this caveman shit still goes on, and that a patriachal society and media are complicit in it - a society I do *not* want to be a part of, because I am *not* those guys, and don't want that type speaking for me.
Between this and the Indian police...

Date: 2013-03-24 08:44 pm (UTC)Pretty much every woman I know has had some sort of abuse too, but also so have several of the men I know - and the men are MUCH less likely to talk about it because it's doubly traumatic because of the stupid patriarchy's stupid masculinity rules.
But there aren't actually that many abusive men (and even fewer abusive women). It's just that although decent fellas are in the majority, abusive types tend to be prolific. And because of crap like what happened on CNN, the abusive types think it's acceptable.
Men like you are making a dent in that veneer of acceptability, so thank you.
