Fic Ritson

So, with Lesley having been ficcing Da Vinci's Demons and especially focussing on Riario, who has to teach her about the era's swordplay, eh? Muggins here, that's who. And who also has to listen to her read out bits all the time, cos she's incapable of writing scenes without storytelling/performing them....

But in revenge I just showed her the League Of Gentlemen episodes in which Blake Ritson (Riario in Da Vinci's Demons) is the object of Herr Lipp's affections...

Twinkies

Oh, I meant to say that over the last of couple of days I've eaten two of the Twinkies from the Dawn Of Time that I mentioned the other day, with no ill effects so far... I mean, I wouldn't eat *food* that had been in a cupboard for so long that I'd no idea where it came from or how long it had been there, but Twinkies are a different matter... Two more to go.

Both good, also heavy on me being a traitor!

Disappointed that I’ve yet to be buttonholed by the MIBs… Or hired as a consultant by the aliens!

Still, as they say, it's the kind of thing that ought to be a good stocking flller for genre fans and geeks - and is surprisingly educational in places to boot!

Look what turned up today... Our copies of the book that has Lesley's first pro writing piece in it. Bel seems annoyed that they've taken her seat, though...

Oh, yeah, I forgot, I've got a bit in it as well, hence why there are two copies. I'm sure Paul Simpson and Brian J. Robb will be chuffed if you go out and buy one of these... *after* getting your copies of We Will Destroy Your Planet, of course.

Why did nobody mention there was coverage of the World Taekwondo Championship on BBC Red Button?

Tonight's Xmas entertainment....

Now, I know it isn't *actually* a Xmas movie, but it was released in the UK at Xmas, so I've always associated it with the festive mood. And of course the sequel is set at New Year...

Oh shit, I know the script by heart and am already saying the lines just ahead of the characters...

Yeah...

Despite the rubbish weather and frequent hospital visits (Lesley's mum was saying she'd had a consultant round today who'd come to the conclusion that she had had a bad stroke. Yeah, great guess, Sherlock, that's why she's been in the fucking Stroke ward for three weeks...) I seem to be feeling positive and getting recharged. It may be because of the end of the year approaching, or the Bond movies and sword practice.
