Trying to remind/motivate myself
Oct. 23rd, 2013 02:48 pmI have a tendency to be with Ra's Al Ghul on the subject of humanity, and when there's so much shit in the world - and there is so much shit, I haven't even posted that much politics or feminism or anything lately because there's just too many fronts, too much to choose from, it'd take lifetimes to comment on everything, and I'd have no life - I tend to put it down to "well, humanity are scum."
It doesn't help that only one person could ever successfully call me on that stuff and make me take note, and that one's lost to me.
If I wasn't trying to do a Spock sometimes, I'd be Khan. But for all the cynicism and negativity with which I view the world and it's people, I know I have to try to see positives even if I can't really feel it about them, and I'm tainted with exposure to the Doctor...
So, in trying to stave off both Spock and Khan, I should probably repost something I said back in March, at: http://lonemagpie.livejournal.com/748553.html and it's this:
I'm going to say that if you're friend, family, or loved one of any kind, then there is always someone with sword (both figurative and literal) and words on your side. Maybe he looks like a man, maybe he looks like a grizzly bear with a sword.
If you're my friend, I am your friend.
If I love you once, I love you always.
If I can help, I always will.
If I can't, I'll always be there to listen.
If that sounds a bit like a genre mission statement, you probably ought to know that I had to die a couple of times to get this way (but most of you know that already).
