lonemagpie: 10Doc whats (wtf)
Hm, got a bit of a start when I noticed the pinkish red liquid filling the toilet bowl - before remembering that that's what the cistern block is *supposed* to do, with it being all geranium flowery stuff...

Oh, and was surprised to find on some of the now-bare stair boards, spots of pale pink paint from a previous colour scheme that a prior occupant must have been on before either Lesley or myself came here. So, may have to paint stairs rather than woodstain, unless I can get a really nice mahogany stain.

Holy. Fucking. Shit. I was looking for a nice lightweight long coat that would flow the way my leather trenches and blue wool Harrods coat do, but be more lightweight and light coloured, to go with my summer look. Didn't want the 10th Doctor coat or Columbo's mac. Thought I was going to have to get one made for about £120, but today I found the perfect one in Age UK, priced at £19.99. They were about to give up on it and take it off sale, so I asked if they'd do it for a tenner.

And they did.

Recent new probably unworn Yves Saint Laurent pour Homme.

And tonight I went looking to see how much it'd have cost new. *whimper* Holy. Fucking. Shit. These buggers go for three digits on fucking *ebay* FFS...

Have discovered that a couple of the chipboard structural panels - one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom, need replaced, but luckily Wickes sells them nice and cheap. Also, found some good sources on vinyl flooring - must find a good pattern!

ETA- Oh, I'm liking the look of the these for kitchen and bathroom...

Will have to see which Lesley fancies best.

May actually go with a wood look for the living room and landing...

Also, I'm looking at the kitchen cupboard units and loathing them. I mean, apart from the state of them, I always fucking hated the colour and texture, but this is a rented house, so I can't replace them - and I couldn't afford a new fitted kitchen anyway. So...

I'm wondering whether it's possible to resurface the doors and stuff, keeping the structure, but changing the colours and textures. Sticky-backed plastic, that kind of thing... (and new handles)

Would it be wrong of me to put red and white tiles in the hall, to replicate the deadly floor trap in the city of the Exxilons in Death To The Daleks?

lonemagpie: like it says (fuck it)
Bastard spamming motherfuckers -phone went, recorded message "This is an important message about your free boiler..." and "we do not have the caller's number" to call-bar the cunts. Fuck. I dunno why I bother having a fucking phone.

"We" have apparently decided upon colours for the house. By which I mean Lesley has decided. She's also found a bunch of stuff she's been looking for for months when she decided to look *in* the washing basket, rather than using it as a shelf.

I also managed to prise up and get rid of the spiky strips that had previously held the underlay and stair carpet on.

Lesley wants to hire the "Rug Doctor" machine to clean the living room carpet, while I think it'd be a waste of money as I'd rather get fucking rid of it entirely... There may be arm-wrestling about this. Or free-sparring.
