More stable today

Sort of calm and empty, which is better than the total wreck I was yesterday. (Like, went to the little shop a few hundred yards away having to wear shades and hoping the person on the checkout won't notice the tears below. I just couldn't do people at all, cos my voice would after about three words. Which was probably useful as I did have to call and get a deadline extension on a thing, as there was no way I could write, and, yeah.) I seem to be cried-out for now.

It's just as well the petition about Richard Littlejohn over the Lucy Meadows (bullied trans woman commits suicide, is then vilified by the Hate Mail) case was a couple of weeks ago - if it had just come out yesterday I'd probably have been in jail for murder by now.

What I *would* have been posting yesterday, but never got round to, was "Yay, royalties! Beautiful Monsters is still selling steadily 7 or 8 years on, even though there's been three more movies and two big games in the covered franchise since then." Which is nice.

Can I have a day without tragedy triggers or tears?

Just one. One will do for now.

So much for stable. I've only read his whisky tour book, which is great, cos his SF just isn't my kind of SF, and his crime/lit aren't my kind of crime/lit - though Lesley just bought a ton of Culture novels at Eastercon, so she'll be upset - but the line says about asking his girlfriend to do him the honour of being his widow... So I'm gone again today...

If any of you who know me well enough to know how to get me to pull myself together, now would be a good time to get me to pull myself together.
