Hospital visit
Nov. 30th, 2013 11:33 pmSo, went in to see my mother-in-law in hospital tonight. It's been a major stroke, and will be a long slow recovery process, but she was speaking completely normally and looked normal around the face. She's got feeling back in her left arm and leg, but they're still paralysed - that said, she tried to squeeze my hand with the left, and there was a very very slight tremble in thumb and forefinger - her thumb moved, like, half a millimetre, which is the first time since Wednesday that we know of.
Apparently at some point yesterday they'd given her the wrong meds but one of the nurses noticed and caught the potential allergic reaction in time.
And I got a nurse to change the tube from the drip they've got her on, as there was an air bubble in the tube. Thankfully she's also eating again (stroke can affect the ability to swallow) so they reckon they might be able to take the drip off tomorrow. She's requested an Aero Chocolate Mousse...
