This week's Radio Times has an interview with Moffatt, and mentions that "this will be the first season since 2010 to have a full run - probably 12 - with no more of that split-season nonsense."
Cue the eruptions of betrayal from fandom pointing out that 12 is one less than full.
I predicted months ago that this would probably happen though - that most likely if they run from autumn it'll end at Xmas, with the Xmas episode serving as a de fact 13th episode, so there'd no longer be a total of 14.
Mind you, I also wouldn't have been surprised if they'd reduced it to 10, as that's the common series length for the BBC now.
In other DW news, there's a female director for some of season 8 as well, specially imported from Hollywood. Sadly it's not Oscar-winning Kathryn Bigelow, but Rachel Talalay, director of Tank girl and Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, as well as various TV episodes for shows like Supernatural, Continuum, and Haven.
