Remind me, is this the same UK government that’s into shutting down lapdancing clubs, criminalising the buying of sex, censoring “porn” on the internet, and combating the sexualisation of young girls? Cos, y’know, maybe they should pick one side of the argument or the other and stick to that?

Maybe they want a monopoly - what could possibly go wrong?

From experience, I’m pretty damn sure of #4. But, then, I already heard of/figured out all 10. And have been drinkininininge.

Picked up Game Of Thrones season 3 on DVD today... Yay.

Also, you know your hand-made period-style big shirts came from a pagan/new age shop when you open the package and are almost knocked flat by the cloud of patchouli and sandalwood scent...

I'm actually enjoying Assassin's Creed 3 more than I expected, given the reception it got overall...

Wonder what this year's game will be - it's supposed to be announced in the coming week. I must be about the only person who *doesn't* want it to be a Japanese/Samurai/Ninja game, basically cos then it just be Tenchu Z redux.

I'd really like to see 19th Century London - and maybe Paris too, for the Eiffel Tower. Victorian London has both Spring-Heel Jack and Jack The Ripper going for it...

Heh, this just turned up on TV an hour ago- a pretty dodgy knockoff of Thief Of Bagdad, but starring Christopher Lee. That's pretty interesting inasmuch as Lee has often said that Conrad Veidt is his acting hero and took inspiration from his performances in order to play Dracula in the original Hammer version.

So, here Lee has a somewhat Jaffar-ish look with turban and moustache - and his good mirror-image has the white turban reminiscent of Jaffar's wedding outfit. He doesn't have Connie's motionlessness, but does have that deep Lee voice, obviously.

It's not a patch on the 1940 Thief, as you can tell from this clip (I couldn't find a trailer), but I remember being entertained when I saw it at the cinema back in 1979, aged 10...

No, not boiled fish and carrots - that was World War One.

Well, what could be more appropriate background on the TV while writing about Nazi gold than this?

Also, it's one of my favourite movies and I never get bored of it.
