The most embarrassing thing about visiting my mother-in-law in hospital is she keeps telling the nurses I'm a "Doctor Who writer, he writes Doctor Who", which means I have to point out that I *was* cos I last wrote some Dr Who a decade ago.

I thought that was the most embarrassing thing until today, anyway, when she seemed to be pretty much telling one of them "he wrote the 50th Anniversary-" at which point I had to go "No! Steven Moffat wrote the 50th Anniversary - he's Scottish as well, which is probably why she's confused..."

Then the bus home didn't fucking turn up and there were a couple of people sitting under the timetable so I couldn't vandalise it, while stuck for an hour in rain and even a two-minute snow flurry... It's at times like that I could really have used a best friend to talk to. Or an annoying cunt to hit, whichever would best relieve the annoyance.
